Arsenal are actively working to secure the signing of Wolves goalkeeper and former Gunners youth product Dan Bentley this summer, aiming to add cover for David Raya.
According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Arsenal are targeting Bentley as a potential backup option.
Nixon reports that Bentley may be interested in the move even as a third-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal. This pursuit comes amidst uncertainty surrounding Aaron Ramsdale’s future at the club. Arsenal value Ramsdale at £50 million, but finding a buyer at that price has proven challenging. If a sale does not materialise, Bentley is likely to join as the third-choice keeper.

Ramsdale’s potential exit remains speculative, with Newcastle United reportedly pulling out of the race to sign him. The addition of Bentley offers several advantages for Arsenal. Firstly, Bentley brings Premier League experience, having played as a backup at Wolves this season and featuring in five matches, including a game against Arsenal.
Moreover, Bentley is a homegrown talent, having spent his youth years at Arsenal between 2001 and 2008 before advancing to senior football with Southend United. His career then took him to Championship sides Brentford and Bristol City, before he returned to the Premier League with Wolves in 2022.
Arsenal are also exploring the possibility of signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, though this move hinges more on Ramsdale’s departure. Garcia impressed during the second half of the 2023/24 season with Espanyol, maintaining an 82.5% save percentage and excelling in aerial abilities. Real Madrid and several English clubs have also shown interest in Garcia.
