Bukayo Saka needed just one word on social media to sum up the performance of Martin Odegaard as Arsenal thrashed Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Gunners made it 11 goals without reply in their last two games, as they followed their 6-0 win over West Ham with a 5-0 victory over the Clarets this weekend.

And it was Martin Odegaard who started the scoring in the latest rout. The Norwegian found the back of the net inside the first four minutes against Vincent Kompany’s side.

Martin Odegaard praised by Bukayo Saka after Arsenal win
Only Arsenal’s two centre-backs completed more passes than the skipper on Saturday, according to Whoscored. Meanwhile, no player on either side managed to make more key passes than the 25-year-old.

Odegaard may have been quiet at times in the opening months of the season. But he has been outstanding over the last few weeks.

And after he took to Instagram following the victory, he received plaudits from the likes of Bukayo Saka – who scored twice in the latest win – and Leandro Trossard…

Gunners hitting top gear at right time
Arsenal have definitely made a real statement with their last two victories, particularly as Manchester City then failed to beat Chelsea later on on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side were not as impressive in the first-half of this season as they had been at the same stage of last year. However, they always remained within reach of the Premier League summit.

They have recently beaten Liverpool. Since losing to the same opposition in the FA Cup, the Gunners have won five in a row, scoring 21 in that time.

And it does appear that the likes of Odegaard, Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard are all finding form at the perfect time.

Certainly, Arsenal look to be raring to go for the title fight ahead of them. And they being led brilliantly by their captain.
