Manchester United sealed their place in the Europa League’s round of 16 with a 2-0 win against FCSB in Romania for Ruben Amorim’s fourth consecutive win in Europe.
The game quickly settled into a pattern of United trying to break down FCSB’s deep block with patient ball possession but it didn’t render anything in the first half.
The introduction of Alejandro Garnacho and Amad added guile and pace to the team and United scored soon after, with Kobbie Mainoo crossing for Diogo Dalot.
Mainoo turned from provider to scorer soon after, slotting in calmly from a Garnacho cutback to end this game as a contest as United saw out the remaining game without much fuss.

Confidence was clear in his passing and handling as there wasn’t much else to do outside of two shots straight at him.
Noussair Mazraoui – 7
A centre-back this time, probably his ideal role for his passing and defensive intelligence. Fared well.

Kept the play ticking in attack and cut off the scattered danger in defense with aggressive play.
Lisandro Martinez – 7.5
Continued his ascent into a genuine attacking threat under Amorim with sharp forward passes and dribbles.

Tyrell Malacia – 5
Got booked early and still looked extremely rusty despite the majority of play coming down his side.
Bruno Fernandes – 6.5
Nice re-introduction to a deeper role as FCSB were obliging opposition with a lack of pressing. Not threatening but composed.
Toby Collyer – 6.5
Showed underrated parts of his game with progressive passing but was sacrificed at half-time for more creativity.
Kobbie Mainoo – 9
Got the attacking role fans long desired and responded with a supreme performance including a goal and an assist.
Christian Eriksen – 7
His one-touch and progressive passing looked United’s best bet to break down a deep block. Ideal for games like these.
Rasmus Hojlund – 6
A much better showing compared to the weekend with a marked improvement in the hold-up play.
