Yannick Bolasie has criticised Arsenal attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira on Twitter for his performance against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Friday evening.

The former Everton and Crystal Palace winger believes that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should have taken off Vieira at half time.

Bolasie has noted that the £30 million (SkySports) Portuguese playmaker was too nervous, and said that he wanted former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to come on in the place of the 22-year-old.

Vieira started on the left of a midfield three for Arsenal.

The Portuguese youngster came off for Leandro Trossard on 57 minutes.

As Bolasie noted, Vieira really struggled in the first half and failed to step his game in the second period before he was taken off for Belgian winger Trossard.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old took two shots but neither was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won one header, took 35 touches, and put in two crosses.

Staying positive

Now, while Fabio Vieira did not have a good game against Southampton, we believe that Arsenal fans should stay patient regarding the playmaker.

After all, Vieira is only 22 years of age.

The youngster will learn from games such as the one against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening.
