Arsenal have some technically incredible players on their books right now.
The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Jorginho are all utterly fantastic on the ball, while the best of the bunch on that front may well be Martin Odegaard.
The Norwegian may not be the strongest or the fastest, but he is absolutely dynamite on the ball. His first-touch is golden, and his ability to pick a pass is second-to-none.
Speaking to The Athletic, Oleksandr Zinchenko has been asked to describe a number of his teammates using just one word, and he’s found a very apt description for Odegaard’s ability.
Indeed, when asked to describe what Odegaard is like as a player, Zinchenko said that he is simply ‘magic’.
Odegaard is magic
Zinchenko spoke about his teammate.
‘Martin Odegaard?” Zinchenko was asked.
“Magic,” Zinchenko said.
What a player
Zinchenko is absolutely right, Odegaard is magic as a player.
That left foot is an absolute wand, and he can make almost anything he wants happen on the football pitch.
He’s not been at his best every single week this season, but last term, there was a genuine argument to make that the £30m man was the very best player in the Premier League.
Unfortunately, Odegaard was beaten to the Player of the Year award by his fellow countryman, Erling Haaland, but if you’re Norwegian, that should give you plenty of reason to be excited about the future.
Odegaard isn’t just a fantastic player, he’s proven to be a brilliant captain for Arsenal over the past 18 months, and he could well end this season lifting a Premier League title.
The Gunners have some truly exceptional footballers on their books right now, but from a technical standpoint, Odegaard could well be the best of the bunch.
