At just 22-years-old, much has already been predicted for the future of Manchester United’s striker Amad Diallo and his national team coach has made a bold claim of his own about the potential of the youngster.
Ivory Coast coach Emerse Fae has sung the praises of his young countryman, and said he will have the chance to reach, and possibly surpass, the heights of some the best African footballers in history.
Diallo has netted six times for United in the Premier League this season, and it’s no surprise that he is the top-scorer for the struggling Red Devils.
In fact, Diallo ranks in the top-10 for most goal assists this season with seven.
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old Fae had some practical advice for Diallo.
“Amad needs to keep working hard to remain at the top. He has the potential to achieve the same success as Drogba, Kalou, Yaya Toure, and Kolo Toure,” Fae told SportsBoom.com.
“However, he must put in the effort because only through hard work can he have a career like theirs. He has the ability, but it all comes down to his dedication and determination.”
Ivory Coast have two World Cup qualifying fixtures coming up next month, and Fae was quite sure Diallo would be able to produce some more top performances for his country.
“He can dribble, score, and offers versatility in the game, making him a valuable asset to his Premier League side and crucial to their success this season. It brings me great joy to see him in such good form right now. He’s playing exceptionally well and is in a positive mood.”
