I know I graduated from Chelsea Academy but there’s a reason why I choose to join Arsenal by The summer, Joining them now will fulfill my career dream”, Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala reveals the real Reason why He chooses to join Arsenal over Chelsea by the summer

Jamal Musiala’s new Bayern Munich contract has a reported release clause in it which will put the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal on high alert. The former Chelsea academy star has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in world football and has been repeatedly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge, despite his prominence in Bayern’s starting XI.

The 21-year-old’ has been repeatedly linked with a move back to England, the country where Musiala spent most of his childhood having come through the youth ranks at the Blues.

However, on Friday, he agreed new terms with Bayern Munich extending his stay until 2030. The Bundesliga leaders would certainly not have wanted to lose the playmaker who has scored 10 goals in 18 league appearances.

Despite agreeing new terms, a move back to England isn’t off the cards entirely. That’s according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg who has revealed the release clauses inserted into Musiala’s new deal.

From summer 2025 to winter 2028/29, the German international has a release fee of £145.8m. This takes a sharp decrease in the summer of 2029 to winter 2029/30 where he could be snatched up for £83.3m.

Chelsea have always been connected with a move for Musiala. The German played for the Blues academy for eight years before jetting off to Munich. It would be an expensive return to Stamford Bridge, if Chelsea were to make an approach.

Arsenal have also been suggested as a possible destination. Gunners legend Ian Wright had already told the club to take a look at Musiala, with a reported £160m available to use on transfers.

The Gunners haven’t directly voiced an interest in the 21-year-old. However, if at some point Musiala was looking for something new, the Emirates could be the right club, given the reported release clause shouldn’t be an unachievable fee for Mikel Arteta.

If one of these two Premier League giants does take on the attacking-ace, they will have to set aside a weekly wage of around £400k a week. At the moment for Bayern, he’s paying them back through his goals.
