BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has sent one warning to Erik ten Hag after dropping his prediction for Manchester United’s forthcoming Premier League clash against Fulham.
Erik ten Hag’s men will welcome Fulham to Old Trafford on Saturday, with kick-off for Manchester United’s match slated for 3pm UK time.
United defeated Marco Silva’s men at Craven Cottage last November after Bruno Fernandes scored a stunning injury-time winner in the 1-0 Premier League win.
Ten Hag’s side have been in superb form since the start of 2024 and are undefeated in their last seven matches across all competitions.
United’s last defeat in the Premier League came before the end of 2023 in a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at City Ground.
However, the Red Devils have picked up four consecutive Premier League wins since their 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford in January.
United firmly remain in the race for the Premier League top four and are three points behind fifth-place Spurs and five points behind fourth-place Aston Villa
Sutton impressed with Man Utd star
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has warned his men they must maintain their run of results if they hope to secure a top-four Premier League finish.
The Red Devils defeated Luton Town last Sunday in a 2-1 victory at Kenilworth Road, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring a stunning brace inside 10 minutes.
Hojlund has been in a rich vein of form for United and the 21-year-old Denmark striker has scored eight times in his last eight matches across all competitions.
BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton admitted that he is “pleased” that Hojlund has maintained his momentum for Ten Hag’s side.
“Manchester United keep on winning – Sunday’s success at Luton was their fifth in a row in all competitions – and I’m pleased to see Rasmus Hojlund has carried on scoring too,” he said in his BBC Sport column.
Sutton’s prediction for Man Utd vs Fulham
Sutton has insisted that Fulham are a “dangerous counter-attacking team” and the Premier League fixture won’t be “easy” for United.
However, the TNT Sports pundit added that the Red Devils are playing with “more freedom” and backed United to win 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
“Fulham were very unlucky to lose to United at Craven Cottage in November, but their away form is not the best,” he continued.
“They have only won once away in the league all season, against Everton on the opening weekend.
“I don’t think this will be easy for United, because Fulham are a dangerous counter-attacking team, but Erik ten Hag’s time are playing with more freedom at the moment, which is why I think they will win.”
