‘I like Arsenal’: ‘Electric’ striker Conte wants at Tottenham makes Gunners admission, his potential is ‘scary’

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move to sign Rafael Leao, but it looks like the AC Milan striker has become a fan of Arsenal.

The two North London clubs could both make a move for a new attacker in 2023. The January transfer window is right around the corner, and with Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison out injured for Arsenal and Spurs respectively, it would make a lot of sense to bring someone in.

Leao, an ‘electric’ forward who impressed at the World Cup, would be amazing for Tottenham, but Arsenal may just have a better chance to sign him if they want to.

Tottenham target Rafael Leao says he likes Arsenal

Arsenal have had a sensational start to the season. They are currently on top of the Premier League table, having lost just one game in the competition all campaign.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are in fourth, which is a very respectable position. They are just three points behind defending champions Manchester City, and they’re where they are despite not playing their best football in the first half of the season.

Leao, who dreams of playing in England one day, has admitted that he has been watching a lot of Premier League games this season. However, it’s not Tottenham who’ve caught his eye – it’s their fierce North London rivals, Arsenal.

In an interview with RDP Africa, as translated by The Mirror, Leao said when asked about his desire to play in the Premier League: “Yes, in the future.

“But now I’m 100 per cent focused on Milan. I’m at a top club and I’m under contract. I also like the city of Milan.”

“I’ve seen a lot of games this year, I like Arsenal, I think they play very well.”

Our View:

Leao is a wanted man and his next move could well be to a Premier League club.

Journalist Simon Phillips told GiveMeSport not too long ago that the Portugal international’s head is turned following interest from Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

CalcioMercato revealed two months ago that Tottenham want to sign him as well, with Antonio Conte reportedly ready to make him one of the club’s best-paid players.

Leao, branded as a player who ‘will be really scary’ one day by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, could really leave Milan in 2023. Whether Tottenham can get him, however, remains to be seen.
