“I really wanted to sign him because He was blessed with great talent and sweet skills but I don’t know why he has choosen to destroy his career”: Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany says ONE Man United’s summer signing was very good before joining the club but now struggling to prove his worth
Footage has re-emerged of Vincent Kompany’s brutal dressing-room tirade aimed at his Anderlecht players and Manchester City fans have reacted in delight after realising the Belgian boss was picking on a new United man.
The clip, taken after his side conceded a last-minute equaliser to draw 2-2 at Sint-Truiden in October 2021, sees the manager show the team ‘one f***ing side of [him] that [they] haven’t f***ing seen’.
First of all, Kompany aggressively reminds centre-back Wesley Hoedt that it is his decision whether they play ‘four, five or six’ men at the back as other members of the team watch on in shock.
He tells the Dutchman that he will ‘take responsibility’ if Anderlecht ‘lose or don’t perform well’ as a result of his tactics.
Kompany then slams new Man United signing Joshua Zirkzee which has amused City supporters, who watched the Belgian lift ten major trophies in a sky blue shirt.
The now Bayern Munich manager says: ‘The second thing, Zirk last time I talk about your attitude.
‘You come off, I don’t need a f***ing smile but I need attitude that’s perfect.’
‘I could have taken off from Hendrik [Van Crombrugge] to the last one without complaining.
‘Today we deserved to lose anyway. We can be f***ing happy with one point.
’95 minutes we just wasted time. You wasted your time, I wasted my time. It was better not to come. It was better to send the under-21s.’
Zirkzee, who was on loan from Bayern Munich at the time, overcame the setback to end the league season on 15 goals and eight assists from 32 matches.
This earned the Dutch forward a move to Bologna where he endured a tough 2022-23 campaign before scoring 12 in 37 in an impressive following season.
