Manchester United fans expressed their frustrations as they booed their team at half-time as they trailed against Bournemouth.
Erik ten Hag’s side returned to Old Trafford following their crucial midweek win against Chelsea.
It was a result that saw them rise into the top six of the Premier League table following a fluctuant start to the season.
The visit of Bournemouth, a side who started the day in 15th, would have spelled a huge chance for United to gain some momentum.
However, any progress that may have been made in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea came undone just five minutes into the match.
A poor pass from captain Bruno Fernandes was pounced upon by the visitors, with Lewis Cook regaining possession.
He then sent a low ball into the box and found Dominic Solanke, who scored with a composed backheel finish in front of the Stretford End.
Describing the goal for talkSPORT, Adrian Durham said: “Cook won the ball because Man United were so casual. They thought nothing was going to happen.
“They thought Bournemouth would sit in their positions. I don’t think Erik ten Hag is necessarily ready for this game. Bournemouth have taken him by surprise.”
As expected, United tried to find a response before the end of the first-half but couldn’t take any of their chances.
Bournemouth even had the ball in the back of the net for a second time but Marcus Tavernier’s goal was ruled out for a Solanke offside.
United fans were then heard booing the home side at the half-time whistle after what was a poor showing on their home turf.
It’s not the first time the Old Trafford crowd have been vocal in their frustrations this season amid disappointing results and decisions.
Half-time boos were heard in their home clash against Brentford when they were 1-0 down, a match they actually won 2-1 late on.
