‘I spoke to someone…’: Arsenal to make late window move for ‘incredible’ £30m Arsenal player
Arsenal and Youri Tielemans have been mentioned more times this summer than any other transfer rumour, but it appears all is not dead yet.
After being interested all summer long in signing Tielemans, reports over the weekend suggested that the Gunners could now let things go into next summer, where they’d be able to land the Belgian for free.
However, with a few weeks of the window left to go, journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Tielemans to Arsenal might still happen, as long as the Gunners can sort some things out with their existing squad.
“It’s been a confusing one with Tielemans who’s been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal for months but there’s been literally no movement. No offers. The player hasn’t kicked up much of a fuss to be fair to him but that’s because there’s not been anything to kick up a fuss about,” Jones said on the Football Terrace podcast.
“Now, I checked this out yesterday. Obviously Arsenal fans were chanting at Tielemans. I spoke to someone who is well connected there and they are still plotting a potential late move for Tielemans in this window. It’s all dependent on two outstanding issues in their current squad. The outcome of which will dictate whether they make a move for Tielemans or not. But yeah speaking to people, it is clear Tielemans is still a player Arsenal are considering a late bid
When it was first touted, everyone thought Tielemans would be a good signing for Arsenal and with the additions they’ve already made this summer, that thought process is no different.
Tielemans is a class act and he’d bring an element of quality to the middle of the park that the Gunners perhaps lack.
If they can get him before the window shuts, then great. However, even if they have to wait until next summer, that’s not the end of the world given he’d cost absolutely nothing.
