I want to return and retire at this great club’: Former Man united player who left Old Trafford Because of little misunderstanding He had with Ten Hag is now pleading with the board for His return

Manchester United defender has admitted that he would like to return to one of his former clubs in the future.

Victor Lindelof was recently named in the BBC team of the week and received praise from his teammate Harry Maguire after his performance against Luton Town.

The Swedish defender has looked vulnerable at times during this rather poor season for Manchester United but his performance against the Hatters will have surely given him a boost in confidence.

However, despite this, whilst on international duty with Sweden, the defender has revealed that he would like to move to one of his former clubs.

Lindelof admission
Speaking to FotbolSkanalen, the former SL Benfica defender has admitted he would like to return to one of his former sides, not Benfica but Swedish side Västerås SK.

That period of time in his life came as a “great joy” to the United defender, who started his career with the club’s youth team and went on to make 40 appearances in all competitions for the first team before joining the Portuguese giants in 2015.

“I have never played in the Allsvenskan (Swedish league) and it is clear that it would have been fun to come home and play for a year in the Allsvenskan,” Lindelof said.

“We’ll see how the body feels in a few years because I feel that I don’t want to come home and be half injured and not be able to perform at a good level.”

Lindelof committed to United
Despite this admission from the 29-year-old defender who joined United back in 2017, Lindelof is still keen on remaining at Old Trafford in the near future.

However, the defender’s future may well be taken out of his hands if Erik Ten Hag gets his way and signs Jean-Clair Todibo as a first-choice starter.

The Swedish defender, alongside Jonny Evans, would surely be most at risk if this were to come to pass next summer.
