‘I will leave because of Him’: £140,000-a-week Star player wants to leave Arsenal for good because of Bukayo Saka
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to sell Nicolas Pepe in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Arsenal want to offload Nicolas Pepe
The Sun have named Pepe among a number of Arsenal players that manager Arteta wants to get rid of at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international winger himself wants to leave Arsenal for good in the summer transfer window after falling behind Bukayo Saka in the pecking order and moving on loan to Nice in the summer of 2022.
“Pepe has not started a Premier League game for the Gunners since October 2021 and has made it clear that he does not see a future for himself in North London after falling behind Bukayo Saka in the pecking order,” states the report.
The Sun have claimed that Arsenal have not received any interest from any club in signing the £140,000-a-week winger on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
So, the Gunners, who are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, could have to pay him off and terminate his contract.
Pepe is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2024.
Our Verdict: Summer exit
In our view, it is unlikely that Nicolas Pepe will be an Arsenal player next season.
We think that Arsenal will either sell the winger at the end of the season or pay him off.
The winger has really struggled during his time at Arsenal and has not played consistently well.
Saka is one of the best wingers in the Premier League and is one of the most important figures at Arsenal.
The England international is a much better and younger player than Pepe, who would be better off finding a new club on a permanent basis.
