‘I’m Happy for Him’: Arteta ‘glad’ £8m player Arsenal sold for nothing flourishing after Arsenal exit – Gives conditions for his return

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been quoted as saying by Hayters TV that he is pleased that Bernd Leno is doing well at Fulham.

Arteta made the comments about former Arsenal goalkeeper Leno ahead of the London derby against Fulham.

Fulham will take on Arsenal at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Sunday.

Leno is set to start for the Cottagers against the Gunners.

Fulham signed the German goalkeeper from Arsenal in the summer of 2022 for £8 million (Sky Sports).

ARSENAL MANAGER MIKEL ARTETA ON FULHAM GOALKEEPER BERND LENO

Arteta said: “I am really happy for Bernd.

“He is a really good goalkeeper, we knew that, and I am really glad that he went somewhere where he is happy and performing.”

GOOD DEAL FOR ALL PARTIES

In our view, Bernd Leno’s move from Arsenal to Fulham has worked out for all three parties.

Leno was a back-up at Arsenal last season.

Aaron Ramsdale has been superb for the Gunners and is the number one goalkeeper for the North London club.

Leno was never going to get much playing time at Arsenal this season.

The German is playing regularly for Fulham now.

The Cottagers were able to sign a 31-year-old Germany international goalkeeper in his prime.

Fulham are a better team with Leno between the posts, and are actually in the running for a European spot in the Premier League table this season.
