‘I’m not happy with my Role at Arsenal’: £60m Arsenal Star is now missing from training after Arteta told Him to pack His Bags and leave, Player wants to move to European club and challenge Arteta again
Arsenal Star looks closer than ever to an exit from the club after he was now left out of their club media day.
That’s via a report from football.london who observed the squad photos.
The club were finishing off their pre-season with the squad photocall but Pepe was nowhere to be seen.
Along with Pepe, Matt Turner, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares were also missing.
And with Matt Turner since completing a £10m move to Nottingham Forest, there doesn’t seem to be an Arsenal future for any of those names.
Neither Pepe, Lokonga or Tavares were included on Arsenal’s squad list on their match day programme for the Emirates Cup either.
It seems the writing is on the wall for the trio who don’t seem in Arteta’s plans.
Similarly, it doesn’t seem that Arsenal are in Nicolas Pepe’s future plans either.
Pepe looks very close to an Arsenal exit and has made it clear that he wants to leave the club.
Although an exit does still seem complicated.
Pepe now missing from Arsenal’s club photos as he nears an exit
It was previously reported that Arsenal would consider a mutual termination of Pepe’s contract this summer.
Besiktas were credited with interest and it seemed that Arsenal would agree to push through a move.
However, reports have now changed and it seems Arsenal may not sanction such a departure for free.
Pepe’s Arsenal exit is complicated by his £140k-a-week in wages.
The winger has one year left on his deal but it seems Arsenal would struggle to find a club willing to part with a fee and replicate a similar wage.
Therefore leaving on a free this summer did look like an amicable solution for all.
But with the club-record-fee of £72m Arsenal paid for Pepe it would be a very hard pill to swallow.
And whilst Pepe’s Arsenal exit may be tricky, it does seem that it’s imminent.
