“I’m now happy”: Erik ten Hag confirms huge Arsenal injury boost as TWO most dangerous players returns from, ready to start against Southampton including the most anticipated new signing
Erik ten Hag has revealed the latest team and injury news ahead of Manchester United’s trip to face Southampton on the south coast on Saturday lunchtime.
The United boss has revealed Leny Yoro, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia are out of the trip, with the Premier League returning after the international break. Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof has a toe injury. Ten Hag has suggested that summer signing Manuel Ugarte could make his debut against Southampton. It was also confirmed that Luke Shaw (calf) and Rasmus Hojlund (hamstring) miss out again.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Ten Hag said: “Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw they are progressing very well but not ready for this game. “Manuel Ugarte, I think we all have seen he played for Uruguay.
“He returned this afternoon, he was the only player who returned today. All the other players returned yesterday, so he is available for this game.”
United are back in action this weekend after the international break with an away trip down south to face Southampton. They were promoted from the Championship last term after they beat Leeds United 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley courtesy of Adam Armstrong’s first-half goal.
