‘Incredible’ player has now ‘made it clear’ he is open to joining Arsenal in January – journalist

Mykhaylo Mudryk is interested in moving from Shakhtar Donetsk to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has given an update on the situation to Give Me Sport as it stands.

The Gunners are currently flying high and sitting top of the Premier League after beating Liverpool 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.

And some winter business may help maintain that momentum if Mikel Arteta gets the right quality and characters through the door.

Mudryk open to joining Arsenal in January

Jacobs said: “I think he made it clear to me that he will assess his future in January and it would be hard to say no to top clubs. He particularly referenced Arsenal.”

Arsenal wanted a winger during the summer to take Nicolas Pepe’s place in the squad after he moved on loan to Nice in Ligue 1.

Pedro Neto was the number one target at one stage but the Wolves man has now picked up an injury which will require surgery and keep him out until after the World Cup.

That means that the likes of Mudryk could come to the fore more and more as the January transfer window approaches.

Hailed as an ‘incredible’ dribbler in Ukraine, Mudryk looks set for stardom and Arsenal will seemingly keep him on the radar for the winter.

He has two goals and two assists in three Champions League games this season and is preparing to face reigning champions Real Madrid in midweek.

Another starring performance there could add a little more to his asking price but would also see his reputation continue to soar.
