‘Is my joy to see my fellow Countryman play for Man united’: Barcelona star Lewandoski confirmed His £40m fellow Polish man is set to join Man united in January – as He has already guaranteed a starting spot in the team

Manchester United have been linked with £30 million-rated Fenerbahce star Sebastian Szymanski and a former Poland international would love to see him try his hand in the Premier League.

If the rumours are true, and Manchester United really are interested in a man who helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie title last season, then Erik ten Hag certainly knows who to call.

Who better than Fred to put in a good word? The former Red Devil is now a team-mate of Sebastian Szymanski’s at Fenerbahce, after all, forming a formidable partnership in the middle of the park for a team who exploded out of the blocks at the start of the current campaign with 19 consecutive wins in all competitions.

Szymanski is averaging a goal or an assist almost every other game in Turkey. He has nine goals already while setting up seven more. And could a player Brentford identified as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen back in 2022 fulfil a similar role at Old Trafford in 2024?

Radoslaw Kaluzny, capped 41 times by Poland, would certainly like to see his compatriot give life at a Premier League giant a go.

Manchester United linked with Sebastian Szymanski
“In my opinion, (Szymanski) is currently the most interesting of our players. I’m very impressed,” Kaluzny tells Przeglad Sportowy Onet.

“I wonder where his ceiling is. I know he has only just started playing for Fenerbahce. But, with his goals and assists, he has managed to prove that conquering Turkey is within his reach. I’d like him to try his hand at a stronger league.

“I was thinking about it recently and thought it would be nice if he went to England or Spain. Specifically, Manchester United or Barcelona. These are great clubs.”

Polish reporter Jaroslaw Kolinski indicated, in quotes reported by Przeglad Sportowy, that Manchester United had sent scouts to watch Szymanski in action recently. The 24-year-old playmaker is valued at around £30 million. He would also become the latest player to join Ten Hag after making his name in the Netherlands.

Christian Eriksen replacement?
Kaluzny has concerns over whether Szymanski’s rather diminutive frame could handle the physicality of the English league but, after shining in Russia, the Netherlands and now Turkey, he certainly deserves the benefit of the doubt.

“Of course, in the Premier League, the slightly frail Sebastian would have to deal with bullies. However, this is only an opinion. And he didn’t need much time to acclimatize anywhere (else),” Kaluzny points out.

“Szymanski comes in (to Fenerbahce) and becomes a leader. That’s why Turks have already come to love him.”
