It will be hard for them to win considering their recent form’: Gary Neville reveals His Arsenal v Burnley prediction today

Arsenal are preparing for yet another huge clash this weekend as they prepare to host Burnley in their final game before the November international break. The past month or so has been far from easy for the Gunners as they’ve tried to balance playing in three separate competitions.

With the team bowing out of the Carabao Cup as well as being handed a defeat away to Newcastle in the league, there were naturally questions arising over their form. Victory in the Champions League over Sevilla has put them in the driving seat to qualify for the knockout rounds though and they’re in touching distance of the title challenge in the Premier League.

The balancing of winning matches as well as keeping the whole squad has been something of a challenge for Mikel Arteta, with injuries piling up before the tie with Burnley. Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey are all set to miss out, while Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu are among a few doubts.

“As you mentioned we have a few,” Arteta told the press when asked about those injury doubts on Friday. “A few still in contention. We need to give them 24 more hours to give them a chance. We won’t know anything till tomorrow.”

It remains to be seen how the manager will deal with potential absences as they look to sign off on a high note before another two-week break for the international fixtures. With that said, football pundits have given their predictions for the clash at the Emirates Stadium, so here’s a look at a few..

Paul Merson – Sportskeeda

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has backed his old side to win and in convincing fashion when they take on Burnley on Saturday afternoon. He told Sportskeeda: “I don’t see anything but an Arsenal win here. They got a big result against Sevilla, a 2-0 win, in midweek. It’s great for them to be winning again after their disappointment at Newcastle United under controversial circumstances. I don’t see anything getting in between Arsenal and three points here.”

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Burnley

Gary Neville and Jill Scott – The Overlap

As part of The Overlap’s new show “Stick to Football”, hosts will have to split into teams and make predictions for the scores that will play out over the weekend. This week former Manchester United star Gary Neville was joined by ex-England icon Jill Scott to make their guesses to the fixtures.

On Arsenal, Scott started by saying: “It’s got to be Arsenal.” with Neville replying: “I’m going big, yeah four [goals]. I’ll go four-nil [to Arsenal]… If Gabriel, to be fair stays up, if Gabriel goes down again it could be four-one.”

Prediction: Arsenal 4-0 Burnley
