‘IT WILL SURELY COME TO PASS’: Evra made a ‘crazy’ prediction about £158k-a-week man at Arsenal that may come true
Patrice Evra has raved about Mikel Arteta after Arsenal came back from the dead to beat Bournemouth 3-2 on Saturday.
After the victory, there were a lot of talking points such as Thomas Partey’s heartfelt tribute to Christian Atsu, the reaction to the comeback from the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Ian Wright as well as to the winner from Reiss Nelson.
But after Arsenal defeated Bournemouth in champions’ fashion, Patrice Evra gave Mikel Arteta a lot of credit.

The ‘ruthless’ £158,000-a-week man has been praised left, right and centre this season and rightfully so, as the Gunners sit 5 points clear at the top of the table out of nowhere.
On ‘Vibe With Five’, a show on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Patrice Evra said that he always knew Mikel Arteta was capable of winning the Premier League title after Arsenal grabbed the headlines with their last-gasp triumph against Bournemouth, saying, “Maybe I sound crazy but from the beginning, I love [Mikel] Arteta and I said, ‘he’s going to win the [Premier League] title.’
“The problem for Arsenal is they have Manchester City and [Pep] Guardiola [competing with them for the league title]. I think this will be his biggest achievement if he wins this year.”
EVRA SAW THE VISION WHEN MOST DID NOT
Fair play to the Manchester United legend for always believing in the Spaniard as his stocks plummeted while building his project at the Emirates Stadium, with many calling for his head as time progressed.
But Patrice Evra was seemingly one of the select few that saw what Mikel Arteta was trying to build at Arsenal and after his side showed incredible character to beat Bournemouth, they look favourites to win the title.
The ex-Manchester City assistant coach is an example for both fans and pundits alike on why it remains key to give managers time, which is a rarity in the modern game.
