Jamie O’Hara says Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is absolutely ‘unbelievable’
Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has been on a mini goal drought recently, but talkSPORT pundits Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy are still raving about him.
The Brazilian joined the Gunners for £45 million from Manchester City in the summer (Goal). He started the season magnificently, scoring five goals and providing five assists in his first nine starts in all competitions.
Since the start of this month, however, he has scored just once, and some fans are worried.
Arsenal travelled to the Netherlands to face PSV Eindhoven yesterday, and they were awful. It was easily their worst display of the season, and it was the first time this campaign that they failed to score a goal.
Arteta was desperate for that not to happen in the second half. He introduced the big guns to help his side get back into the game – Jesus and Bukayo Saka – but that wasn’t enough.
That’s now six games without a goal for Jesus, who will surely be disappointed. However, Cundy and O’Hara are not doubting him one bit. They still think he has been excellent.
Cundy said on talkSPORT last night: “Jesus hasn’t scored a goal for five-six games. You want your striker scoring. But, he’s been marvellous, hasn’t he? He’s been brilliant since he’s been there.”
O’Hara, a devout Tottenham fan, added: “What a player! Unbelievable!”
The Brazilian has well and truly transformed the Gunners since the start of the season. His energy, work-ethic and the way he goes about his game has lifted everyone around him, which has really benefitted the Gunners.
No goals in the last six games is not a great showing for any striker, but there’s no real cause for concern for Arsenal fans just yet. The Brazilian is still getting into the right areas, and as long as he does that, the goals will come.
Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest on Sunday and Jesus will start that game. He’ll love nothing more than to get back to scoring and helping his side return to winning ways.
