Real Madrid have built up quite a reputation for signing the best young talent from around the world and turning them into starters under their watchful eye at Santiago Bernabeu. Even this summer, they have brought in youngsters like Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, who can be stalwarts for the first-team for years to come if their development goes according to plan.
Real Madrid are always on the lookout for great young talent. And one of the players who they have been linked with for quite some time is Ivan Fresneda.
Fresneda is currently at Real Valladolid. He is expected to leave soon though, as they were relegated from the top flight last season and are now playing in the second division of Spanish football.
That has not stopped clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid from being linked with Fresneda. But it looks like Arsenal are serious about signing the 18-year-old Spanish right-back.
As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Arsenal are interested in Fresneda. And they are willing to shell out a €15 million fee to sign the Real Valladolid wonderkid.
Of course, this is not the first time that Arsenal have been linked with Fresneda. They were rumoured to be closely eyeing the right-back in January as well and it is a bit of a surprise that a move did not happen then. Let’s see if the Premier League giants can sign the Spanish youth international this time around.
Arsenal are one of the most exciting footballing projects in all of Europe right now. Thus, if they did come calling, one would expect Fresneda to jump at the opportunity. On the other hand, it feels unlikely that Real Madrid would make a move for the right-back in the ongoing summer transfer window.
