At least, that’s what Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported this morning.
Arsenal are heavily linked with signing the Shakhtar Donetsk winger and the Gunners have already one offer knocked back.
The Ukrainian outfit are looking for around £80 million to sell their prized asset.
But does Mudryk want to join Arsenal?
According to Romano, yes – but speed key in the North Londonders getting a deal done.
He told Caught Offside: “For sure Mykhaylo Mudryk dreams of Premier League football, and he’d love a move to Arsenal; there’s no doubt on that,” Romano said.
“But timing, as always said, will be crucial. Arsenal have to be fast, this is really important; talks are still ongoing with Shakhtar to reach an agreement in the next days. On personal terms, there’d be no problem as he’d love the move to Arsenal.”
With Chelsea now also interested in Mudryk [Guardian], you can see Romano’s point about timing.
Arsenal cannot afford to dither on this, as they have a number of other big transfers down the years.
Chelsea are doing big things in this transfer window and it isn’t beyond them to hijack the Gunners’ efforts to sign him, by paying the £80 million and washing their hands with it.
