JUST IN: Agent now in London Carrington as He set to complete deal with Man united tonight, paperwork to be done today, deal announcement tomorrow

Manchester United are very interested in signing Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens IF, according to Fussball.news.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the best upcoming talents in Sweden and he has already made 29 senior appearances for his team across all competitions.

The teenager, who can play in central or defensive midfield, has caught the eye of several clubs and Fussball.news claim that United are ‘very interested‘ in signing him.

Aside from the Red Devils, there is also competition from the likes of Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt in the youngster, who is valued at €8-10 million.

Bergvall has already trialed with United twice as a 14-year-old. He is a fan of the Red Devils, but no transfer is expected this month due to the lack of transfer funds.

Man Utd likely to miss out on Swedish wonderkid
United are not in a position to afford permanent transfers this month without player sales. They are currently in a tight position with regards to Financial Fair Play.

This is most likely to hamper their prospects of landing Bergvall, considering Eintracht are pushing to secure a transfer agreement with Djurgardens IF this month.

As per Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga outfit are ‘ready to pay’ €9m for the young midfielder and they are prepared to integrate him into their first-team immediately.

Unless the Red Devils step up their interest with a formal approach, we won’t be surprised if Eintracht win the race to sign the highly-rated Swede in the next few days.

If the youngster is prioritising playing time, he could give preference to the German side. They could hand him with regular minutes which won’t be an assurance at United.
