JUST IN: Arsenal could now overpay for £250,000-a-week forward

Journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could overpay for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Arsenal want to sign Felix on a loan deal in the middle of the season.

The Gunners, who are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, could pay more than they would like to secure the services of the Portugal international, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder.

The Express have also claimed that Arsenal want to sign Felix on a loan deal.

Manchester United are reported to be interested as well in the forward who earns £250,000 per week as salary.

ARSENAL STANCE ON ATLETICO MADRID FORWARD JOAO FELIX

Jones said: “I’m hearing that Arsenal are going to try to negotiate with Atlético over Joao Felix.

“They will try to find some common ground over the loan fee and accept that they might have to overpay compared to a typical loan fee.

“It might be worth it because this is a fantastic chance to win the league and they can’t watch it pass by without exploring everything.”

EXCITING

In our opinion, Arsenal should do their utmost to get a loan deal for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix done in the January transfer window.

Yes, it could be a costly move when you include the loan fee involved, but it would be worth it as long as Arsenal are not obliged to make it permanent at the end of the season.

Felix is a very mobile forward who would give Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta a valuable option in attack, especially as star striker Gabriel Jesus is injured at the moment.
