JUST IN: Chelsea now ready to bid £80m for ‘exciting’ player, Mikel Arteta key
Graham Potter’s Chelsea are ready to bid a total of £80 million for Mykhailo Mudryk, but Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are favourites to sign the Shakhtar Donetsk winger in the January transfer window, according to The Guardian.
CHELSEA READY TO BID FOR ARSENAL TARGET MYKHAILO MUDRYK
The report has claimed that Arsenal have had two offers for Mudryk turned down, but the winger prefers a move to the Gunners to a transfer to Chelsea.
Although Arsenal are the favourites to secure the services of the 22-year-old winger, Chelsea are hopeful of getting a deal done.
The Guardian have claimed that Chelsea believe that they could get the winger for £60m plus £20m in add-ons.
Arsenal’s latest offer for the Ukraine international winger was £44.2m plus add-ons..
Chelsea reportedly met Shakhtar officials in London this week and are now ready to push on and make a bid for Mudryk, described as “really exciting” by former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports this week.
MIKEL ARTETA KEY
The Guardian have added that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ‘will have to decide whether to maintain his interest in Mudryk if Chelsea have an offer accepted’.
It seems that if Chelsea have an offer for the winger accepted, then it will be Arteta’s call whether or not Arsenal make a better bid.
This shows just how much power Arteta has at Arsenal and how much the Gunners’ bosses have faith in him.
