‘Leave my club now’: Erik Ten hag has officially told £30m Star to find new club before window closes or his contract will be terminated
One player that Manchester United would have loved to sell this summer, Eric Bailly, now appears to be available for free.
Eric Bailly is a player who at one point showed signs of being Old Trafford‘s next great defender.
Explosive pace and strength coupled with a top ability to read the game meant he was almost a one-man defence at times.
However for all his qualities, the Ivory Coast international can’t stay fit, even without playing he picks up injuries.
United thought they had gotten rid of Bailly as he spent last season on-loan at Marseille where he made a surprising amount of performances.
However, unimpressed the French side sent him packing back to Manchester, where Erik ten Hag hasn’t gave him a look in.
Not seen in any training photos and excluded from the tour 2023, it is safe to say that Ten Hag wants him to leave.
United slash asking price for Bailly
Old Trafford chiefs are so keen to see Bailly leave the club, and get his wages off the books, that they have slashed the asking price.
To say there is an asking price would be incorrect as James Ducker reports for the Telegraph, that United aren’t asking for anything.
He claims United are willing to let the 29-year-old leave for free this summer in a bid to get him gone.
This signals the desperation of Ten Hag and co to get rid of him, with little to no interest in him, not even from Saudi Pro League sides.
How bad is his injury record
The 49-cap Ivorian is infamous for his poor injury record at Old Trafford.
According to Transfermarkt, Bailly has missed 126 games through injury at United since his arrival in 2016.
To demonstrate how poor this is, he has only made 113 appearances for the club.
Definitely a player we need to say goodbye to, but will he receive any offers before the deadline?
If nobody wants him for free, chances of this happening aren’t looking good.
