Lisandro Martinez sends six-word message to Alejandro Garnacho after Argentina debut
Alejandro Garnacho is celebrating after making his long-awaited international debut for Argentina.
The only downside to Alejandro Garnacho‘s Argentina debut, was that he was not able to share the moment with Manchester United teammate Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez is not currently with the Argentina squad, as he is recovering from a metatarsal injury which caused him to miss the final weeks of the club season.
Garnacho came off the bench yesterday as Argentina beat Australia 2-0 in a friendly match held in China.
Lisandro Martinez message to Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho played the final 16 minutes of the friendly match, making his debut for his country, after being forced to pull out of the squad with an ankle ligament injury in March.
Writing on Instagram, Garnacho said: “And if this is just a dream never wake me up. Beautiful.”
He received a response from Red Devils teammate Lisandro Martinez, who replied: “It looks good on you brother.”
There was also a message from Argentina teammate Rodrigo de Paul, who wrote “Let’s go.”
Manchester United academy teammates Marc Jurado, Joe Hugill, Rhys Bennett and Charlie McNeill were also among the players to reach out to congratulate Garnacho on his milestone moment.
Argentina are in action next week against Indonesia, where Garnacho hopes to get more minutes than the 16 he played against Australia.
