‘Look at that’: Dimitar Berbatov wowed by Arsenal player despite defeat for Spurs in NLD
Dimitar Berbatov stated ‘you can’t catch that’ following Thomas Partey’s brilliant long-range goal during Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Saturday.
The former Premier League striker added that if you afford such ‘great players’ like Partey time on the ball, then like the 29-year-old showcased yesterday, they will punish you.
Partey has showcased his ball-striking ability from long-range before, but he just hasn’t produced it enough, well he brought out that trick at the right time for the north London derby.
It was a brilliant first-time finish from the hard-hitting midfielder, with his shot also out-foxing Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who was trying to scramble towards his left-hand side in order to save the shot.
Nonetheless, that moment just opened the door for a game and three points to remember for Mikel Arteta’s men, who remain top of the Premier League pile.
Nonetheless, despite repping the other side of north London, Berbatov liked what he saw from Partey and he had these comments to make, as he told Premier League Productions (01/10/22 at 1:25 pm).
“Even if you have ten behind the ball, when we face a good team with great players, then this can happen,” said Berbatov.
“Look at that finish. You can’t catch that.”
ARSENAL SITTING STRONG
The north London derby isn’t the only neighbouring war taking place this weekend because both Manchester clubs will also clash at the Etihad.
Manchester City go into the game sitting in second place, four points behind Arsenal and wanting to close the gap on the surprise leaders.
Erik ten Hag’s side might have started the season in a pretty abject fashion, but things have picked up since then, including ending Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
Three points from Manchester United would move them into the top-four, six points behind Arsenal, but ten Hag’s men would also have a game in hand.
