Sheikh Jassim has pledged to wipe United’s debt.
That’s in stark contrast to Ratcliffe, who is willing to let the club stay in the red as part of his plans.
The INEOS chief would, of course, look to lower the overall figure during his possible years in charge.
But Sheikh Jassim is willing to pay off the debt straight away, which is why many fans are in his corner.
The Qatari billionaire is also prepared to invest in the squad, at a time when Ten Hag is desperate for signings.
