Manchester United potential XI with four transfers they could target in first Jim Ratcliffe window as Ten Hag set to welcome new players
Manchester United have officially welcomed Sir Jim Ratcliffe to Old Trafford this week after his acquisition of the Reds was ratified by the Premier League.
United announced on Christmas Eve a deal had been reached with INEOS for them to join the boardroom. In the statement, the Reds added that Ratcliffe and his team would be acquiring a 25 per cent stake in the club and would be spearheading football operations with the Glazers taking a back seat.
The subsequent January transfer window was quiet for United as Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns lurked over the Reds. Due to this, Erik ten Hag did not make any additions to his squad this winter with the focus turning to the summer transfer window.
It will be no surprise to Ratcliffe that United need reinforcements in their squad if they are to bridge the gap between themselves and the Premier League title challengers. MEN Sport understands Ten Hag is wishing to add a full-back, centre-back, midfielder and striker to his team at the very least.
Ratcliffe is believed to be wanting to target players who are entering the final year of their contracts in the summer. Once a player is in the last 12 months, their price tag begins to diminish as their club attempts to either salvage a new deal or wishes to sell them before they leave for free.
With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a crack at trying to predict how the United line-up could look once the summer transfer window comes to an end in September.
