Manchester United set to welcome another African player to the Club in January’: Erik Ten Hag is a big fan of the striker after what He did last night
Man United continue to be linked with a move to sign Serhou Guirassy, with Sky Sports now weighing in on the situation.
Another day, another Serhou Guirassy update.
Manchester United are consistently being linked with a move to sign the man from Guinea, who is having himself quite the season for VfB Stuttgart over in the German Bundesliga.
The striker has 16 goals in 11 league games so far this term, showing himself to be among the most prolific forwards in the country at this point in time. This is absolutely the best form of his career to date. Big clubs are starting to take note.
Sky Sports have now weighed in on the situation, claiming United are ‘monitoring’ the 27-year-old striker ahead of the January transfer window. I’d be surprised if the Reds are the only side keeping an eye on Guirassy at this stage.
United need to offer some help for Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane is an excellent player, though he cannot do it all on his own.
Anthony Martial’s days at Old Trafford appear numbered, hence why the Reds are looking to make a move to bring someone else in.
Is Guirassy good enough? I’m not so sure. VfB Stuttgart play an expansive style of football, where chances galore are created. It’s fair to say United do not play in that style under the current regime. His goals tally would certainly dwindle down pretty quickly.
However, with such a low release clause (around £16m), I do wonder whether it’s worth the gamble. Surely Ten Hag has to try make something happen in order to save his job…?
