Manchester United tipped to offer up 4 players in exchange for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong

Premier League giants Manchester United are ready to offer up several high-profile members of the club’s first-team squad, in an effort to reduce the cost required to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing English sources, who point towards Dutchman De Jong as being firmly back on the agenda at Old Trafford.

It is of course common knowledge that De Jong has long been held in high esteem by the powers that be in Manchester.
The Red Devils saw a concerted push for his signature rebuffed back in the summer of 2022, as the former Ajax man made clear time and time again his dedication to the cause in Catalunya.

Recent weeks, however, have pointed towards De Jong becoming increasingly disenchanted with life at Barca, to the point of seeking out an exit with a view to next season.

And Man United, it would appear, are ready to take full advantage.

With Erik ten Hag desperate to reunite with his former midfield standout, the Premier League heavyweights are in the process of drawing up a fresh proposal for his services.

Aware that their counterparts at the Camp Nou are seeking out a sum in the region of €100 million, though, the Old Trafford brass have been tipped to offer up no fewer than four players in part-exchange.

The Red Devils stars in question? Attackers Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho and Antony, as well as midfielder Scott McTominay.
