Manchester Utd now prepare bid to sign £100million star player– Report
Chelsea have so far played hard ball with Manchester United over the transfer of Mason Mount and now, they may end up losing their prime midfield target, Moises Caicedo, to the Red Devils.
According to The Times, the Old Trafford club have decided to end their interest in Mount after the rejection of their third bid worth £55million was made public.
The renowned British news source have mentioned that United think the asking price of £65million is too high for a player who can leave for free next year.
It is reported that now, Man Utd are preparing a bid to sign Caicedo from Brighton. The Ecuadorian international is the priority midfield target.
The Times claim the 20-time English champions will also step up efforts to lure an out and out center forward this summer.
Caicedo has been a wanted midfielder in the Premier League for quite some time. In January, Arsenal saw a bid worth £70million turned down by the Seagulls.
The 21-year-old eventually signed a new contract and the latest reports indicate the Amex outfit are demanding a fee of at least £100million for their prized asset (The Athletic).
The former Independiente midfielder was brilliant for Brighton last term and helped them earn a place in the Europa League.
However, he is a completely different player from Mount. The England international is mainly an attack minded midfielder, who likes to score and create goals.
On the other hand, Caicedo is an energetic presence in the center of the park, he likes to consistently press and break play.
After refusing to pay £65million for the Three Lions player, should Man Utd now bid £100million to sign the Ecuadorian?
