Mason Greenwood to Barca Here we go!! Shirt number already confirmed as Barca wants to seal deal next week
Barcelona are ready to offer Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood their iconic No.10 shirt, according to reports.
Greenwood is currently on loan at Getafe after United approved the deal in the final hour of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault.
The charges against Greenwood were dropped in February but following an internal investigation, United concluded that the forward needed to rebuild his career away from Old Trafford.
Greenwood is now thriving on loan at Getafe, scoring three goals and registering four assists in 14 La Liga appearances this season.
Barcelona have been closely monitoring Greenwood’s performances and according to The Sun, the Spanish champions are preparing a £40 million move for next summer.
The report claims that as a major incentive, Barca are willing to offer Greenwood their iconic No.10 shirt which was worn during Lionel Messi’s prime era at Camp Nou.
It’s understood that Greenwood is open to staying in Spain beyond the end of the season and would be willing to join Barcelona.
Xavi’s side currently sit fourth in La Liga, seven points behind Real Madrid and Girona.
