MEDICAL COMPLETED: Arsenal finally announce the signing of £60m superstar, Medical completed as announcement currently ongoing

One of the biggest surprises ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Aston Villa was Ruben Amorim’s decision to exclude both Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana from the matchday squad. The omission sent a strong signal that their futures at Old Trafford may be in serious doubt

The Portuguese tactician seemed to be sending a clear message that the two players might not have a future at Old Trafford.

With Garnacho, it almost seemed a given, considering his choice of words after Man Utd lost the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, as per journalist Graeme Bailey via TBR Football, Garnacho is pushing to agree a move to Arsenal from Man Utd. The player’s entourage are in negotiations with the North London club and a transfer could be on the cards.

Future lies away from Old Trafford?
Garnacho has accepted that his future lies away from Old Trafford, and both Napoli and Atletico Madrid are very keen on signing the 20-year-old. It is understood that the Argentine winger will cost around £50.4m for interested sides.

The report mentions that the player is keen on a switch to Atletico Madrid, although that isn’t set in stone. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is interested in signing a new left-winger for the team and Garnacho fits the bill.

When Garnacho was breaking into the first team under Erik ten Hag, he was expected to be the next big thing at Old Trafford. He started very well and continually impressed but this current season hasn’t seen him develop as one would expect.

In total, the 20-year-old has played 58 games for Man Utd this season across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. Taken without perspective, these numbers do make for decent reading with regards to the player.

With tensions seemingly rising between Garnacho and Amorim, a summer departure now feels increasingly likely.

Whether he heads to Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, or another top European club, the 20-year-old’s next move could be pivotal for his development. For United, it could mark the end of a promising but unfulfilled chapter.
