MEDICAL DATE CONFIRMED: Arsenal confirmed shocking medical date for their long awaited top transfer target after reaching final terms this morning – welcome to Emirate
Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal and Chelsea have completed their exchange of documents for the transfer of winger Noni Madueke, with the agreement now sealed.
Romano adds that Madueke is undergoing his medical tests this weekend, and he’ll then sign a five-year deal with Arsenal.
Many sources have reported that the total package will be worth £52m to Chelsea, with an initial £48m fee and another £4m in add-ons.
David Ornstein had reported earlier this week that Madueke had been granted permission by Chelsea to leave their Club World Cup camp in the USA and travel back to the UK for a medical with Arsenal.
Chelsea are playing in the Club World Cup final against PSG on Sunday night, but Madueke isn’t set to be a part of the squad for that match. Instead, he’s heading to Arsenal immediately.
Journalist Henry Winter reports that Arsenal should get Madueke in officially next week, with the Gunners also attempting to do deals for Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP and Cristhian Mosquera of Valencia.
Arsenal are moving for Madueke to add depth to their wide options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, though they’ll have to wait a while to add the winger to their pre-season squad.
Even with Madueke cutting short his Chelsea campaign by a few days, it will still be August before his mandatory holiday period is over and he can link up with his new teammates.
Arsenal are still pursuing other attacking additions, with reports that their interest in Eberechi Eze is independent of their pursuit of Madueke, on top of that pursuit of Gyokeres.
