Medical ongoing – the £60M is currently undergoing medical at Carrington, Player set to be unveil in the next 15hrs

Premier League is poised to undergo a medical at Manchester United today ahead of his £60million move.

Mount, 24, is set to be Erik ten Hag’s first signing of the season as the attacking midfielder prepares to leave Chelsea after climbing through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.

After weeks of negotiating, United and Chelsea reached an agreement on a £55million fee with £5million worth of add ons for the England international.

Mount previously agreed personal terms at Old Trafford before a fee was settled with Chelsea, seeing him set to become United’s fourth-highest paid player, earning a basic £250,000-per-week, climbing to £300,000-per-week including bonuses.

And now according to Fabrizio Romano, Mount will undergo medical tests on Monday before penning his five-year deal at Old Trafford, with his contract also including the option to extend for an extra year – taking his deal until 2029.

Mount’s medical had previously been delayed as he was away on holiday at the time a deal was struck with the Blues. But the transfers confirmation is now imminent after he was snapped arriving at Carrington in a blacked-out Mercedes van.

The 36-time England international only scored three goals in 35 games last season in a miserable campaign all round for him and Chelsea. But United will hope he refinds his 2021/22 form where he registered 13 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.

Ten Hag has seemingly got his man in the engine room and will look to turn his attention to securing a new goalkeeper, with discussions already beginning with Inter Milan stopper Andre Onana, as well as a striker.

But with David de Gea’s future at the club not completely resolved despite him now being a free agent, and United’s transfer budget potentially being halved to £60m following Mount’s arrival – Ten Hag may find remaining funds are to come by.

United could announce Mount’s arrival in the next few days and he could even make his debut for the club against Leeds United in their first pre-season game in Oslo next week.
