Manchester United are linked to Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund and there were more reports of negotiations this past weekend.
The Sun is reporting Manchester United will make a second offer of £40 million, after a £30 million bid was rejected by Atalanta this weekend.
Rasmus Hojlund is an exciting option to add into Manchester United’s attack, amid the team’s desperate need for a centre-forward.
The Denmark international has been compared to Erling Haaland by his former manager at Sturm Graz.

Rasmus Hojlund may be compared to Erling Haaland, but it is former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo who he wants to emulate.
His father Anders Hojlund told Gazzetta dello Sport about Hojlund’s determination to become as good as his idol.
He said: “One day he took me aside and said he would imitate him in everything. Not just on the pitch.
“Two days later and I find him there, on his bedroom floor, doing sit-ups and push-ups. He did all of this every night before he went to sleep. Every week. Even with the flu or a cold. Sometimes we told him to let it go, but he didn’t.

Hojlund told TLN in March: “I just like his mentality. I love that he’s so eager to score a goal. The thing for me is he is so passionate about wanting to be the best, and I like it.
Manchester United are aiming to sign Hojlund now, while he is a raw talent who can be developed, before he becomes totally unaffordable
You need only look at Victor Osimhen’s situation; the Nigerian is valued above £100 million, whereas Napoli paid half that to sign him from Lille in 2020.
Other clubs are also keen too. Tuttojuve report Juventus are keen on Hojlund, if Dusan Vlahovic is sold to potential bidders Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
United are taking a proactive approach to try and get the deal done early. The £30 million offer never really stood a chance of success, but neither did the club’s opening £40 million bid for Mason Mount.
The £40 million offer for Hojlund is a reasonable base fee, potentially there could be some add-ons on top of that. Let’s see how it pans out.
