“NOT TROSSARD” – FPL expert selects £120k-p/w Arsenal star as ideal Martinelli replacement AND is not TROSSARD

Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has not been at his best recently, and it’s ‘time to move on’ from him in FPL, expert Dean Jones has suggested to GiveMeSport.

The 21-year-old was one of the key figures spearheading the Gunners’ title charge before a severe drop-off in form struck, causing problems for Mikel Arteta and his virtual managers on the game.

Martinelli caught the eye with a string of outstanding displays in the opening months of the campaign, registering seven goals and two assists in his opening 16 Premier League appearances.

Despite that fast start, the Brazil international has failed to maintain that level of late, potentially playing a part in Arsenal also dropping down the top-flight standings.

Martinelli has been unable to provide a single goal or assist in his last six league outings for the capital club.

During that time, Mikel Arteta’s charges have drawn to Newcastle United and Brentford and have lost to both relegation-threatened Everton and title-rivals Manchester City.

Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Aston Villa on Saturday before they take on Leicester City, Everton again and Bournemouth in their next three fixtures.

What has Jones said about Martinelli?

When asked if FPL should be contemplating replacing Martinelli, Jones disclosed that he believed the South American’s teammates Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka could be good transfers to bring in.
