Official flies into London to agree transfer to Manchester United – Hope deal can be done ‘quickly’
For the past two days, there have been several claims in the Italian media that the deal to take Inter Milan goalkeeper André Onana to Manchester United could be concluded before the weekend.
The Serie A side have been wanting to get a fee close to €60m including bonuses while the Red Devils are trying to get the deal done at a lower price. This is pointed out again by Calciomercato, who provide a fresh update on this ongoing saga.
It’s stated Manchester United made a new offer worth €55m last weekend. Even though this doesn’t meet Inter’s valuation, the two clubs are optimistic over finding a middle ground.
The website says the Nerazzurri could close the Cameroonian’s sale to the Premier League side in the ‘next few hours’ and then work on signing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
Calciomercato say Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has flown to London to try and seal these two deals ‘quickly’. After cashing in Onana’s sale to Manchester United, Ausilio will also focus on signing his replacement.
Erik ten Hag identified the former Ajax man as his No.1 goalkeeper target even before David de Gea confirmed his exit from Old Trafford. Ausilio’s latest trip to England should help the manager quickly reunite with Onana at Manchester United.
