Manchester United have a summer of rebuilding ahead of them. The Red Devils have already started working towards the same, recently signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves but that is just the first name in what could be a long list.
Ruben Amorim’s team has a lot of gaps that the Portuguese tactician will be looking to fill.
The Portuguese tactician uses a niche 3-4-2-1 system at Old Trafford and he needs players who would be able to fit into this system.
Now, as per Spanish source, Fichajes, Man Utd are preparing a £25.3million (30 million euros) offer to sign talented AS Monaco right-back Vanderson. The 23-year-old Brazilian has enjoyed a very good season for the Ligue 1 club and could be ready for a big move.
Predominantly a right-back, Vanderson’s attacking ability means that he can also play as a wing-back. Ruben Amorim can also choose to utilize him as an outside centre-back in a back three and task him with bombing up and down the pitch.
Vanderson has played 41 games for Monaco across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing five assists. The 23-year-old has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until 2028 and the French club have a fair bit of power in negotiations.
Vanderson at Old Trafford?
Ruben Amorim currently has two solid options to play at right wing-back – Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot.
The former has been used a lot in the outside of back three by the Portuguese manager while the Portuguese defender can be used on either side of defense.
Vanderson has also won six caps for Brazil at the senior level. There is no dearth of talent and at the fee that he could be available for, the upsides of this transfer are very high for Man Utd, especially at a time where they are clutching at straws, financially.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Brazilian. If he was to move to Man Utd this summer, it would be a brave move at his age.
The pressure will be on him to deliver right from the start and only time will tell how it plays out.
