‘Official next week’: Fabrizio Romano has some transfer news for Manchester Utd fans after Nott’m Forest defeat
Manchester United were beaten by Nottingham Forest tonight and Fabrizio Romano had some transfer news for the fans immediately after.
United were downed thanks to another dismal performance that Forest took advantage of in front of their raucous City Ground crowd.
Despite a late goal from Marcus Rashford looking like rescuing a point, Morgan Gibbs-White sealed the win for Forest.
And immediately after the game, Fabrizio Romano had some transfer news for United fans.
Taking to X, Romano has confirmed that Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek is now set to leave the club and United have signed contracts with Eintracht Frankfurt for a loan deal.
About time for Van de Beek and United
Certain signings are just an absolute disaster and that has proven to be the case here with Donny van de Beek.
Quite what has gone on and quite why he has failed so drastically is open to discussion. Injuries have had their say, as has the change in management at the club and the general turmoil at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek can hopefully now go on to build a new career elsewhere and prove himself as a top midfielder.
There was a reason United paid big money in the first place to sign him and it’s not like he’s going to have become a bad player overnight.
For United fans, this will be just another reason for them to have a dig at the club in general.
Like Antony, they’ve landed a top player from Ajax and never seen anything from him. Some will rest on the player, but ultimately, the club has also failed here as well.
Certainly, United need to be better in the market going forward.
