Manchester United will be relieved to have drawn the curtain on a forgettable 2024/25 campaign.

With no European football on the horizon, the club faces a pivotal summer rebuild. Reinforcements are needed across the pitch, but none more urgently than up front.

There are a lot of positions that Man Utd need to reinforce this summer. Among the many issues that they have, the striker position is one that strikes out the most. The Red Devils cannot go into another season without a proper goalscorer in their ranks.

One player Man Utd have been linked with in recent times is Fiorentina star Moise Kean. As per Sport Mediaset, the Red Devils are willing to pay his release clause of £43.5million to sign the 25-year-old striker this summer.

A much improved Moise Kean
Kean has enjoyed a very good season at Fiorentina. In 44 games across all competitions for the Italian side, he has scored 25 goals and provided three assists. It’s only been a season since he joined Fiorentina from Juventus on a permanent basis.

Incidentally, the 25-year-old has already played in the Premier League in the past. He spent some time at Everton but his time at Goodison Park was abysmal, to say the least. He managed to find the back of the net only 4 times.

However, the version of Kean that played in Merseyside is very different from the version that is currently playing at Fiorentina. He has improved his game, understood his skill set better and is in much better shape to move to a club of Man Utd’s stature.

On paper, it would make sense for the Red Devils to sign him, especially at this price. However, betting on another young striker might not be the best way to go about it and this will be a huge gamble for the English club to take.

Ideally, Ruben Amorim should prioritize a proven Premier League scorer to lead the line. Whether United decide to roll the dice on Kean or opt for experience remains to be seen, but their summer strategy must be clear and calculated.
