Manuel Ugarte’s move to Man Utd is close and the Red Devils are willing to agree a fee with PSG to sign the midfielder.

As per Diego Munoz, the former Sporting CP midfielder is set to leave the French champions this summer and is “close” to moving to Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan journalist has claimed that Spanish boss, Luis Enrique, has already told Ugarte to find a new club and Man Utd are willing to pay the asking fee to sign him.

Munoz revealed:

“He is close to United. Ugarte is not going to continue at PSG. Luis Enrique has already told him that he is not going to take him into account.”

“He was not comfortable with the team either, and so options open up. PSG want to release Ugarte to someone who will put part of the money that they invested in the Uruguayan footballer and Manchester United is willing, and given this, they are most likely his future team”

Last summer, the Ligue 1 giants paid a fee of 60 million euros to sign the Uruguayan from the Lions and are now asking for a similar fee of around £50million to offload him.

Munoz claim Man Utd do not even face stiff competition to land Ugarte.

Atletico Madrid are “very excited” about him but PSG want money and the Colchoneros can only afford a loan deal.

Dortmund and Bayern Munich also want to “suffocate” with conditions similar to that of the Rojiblancos and the Paris giants will not accept. Therefore, he is “close to United”.
