Manchester United remain keen on adding another central defender to the squad and the name of Matthijs de Ligt is in the focus.
As per today’s edition of Bild, Bayern Munich paid 67 million euros to lure the Dutchman from Juventus two years ago and initially slapped a price tag of 65 million euros.
However, they had to abandon the idea of receiving even 60 million euros and sporting director, Max Eberl, will hardly able to attain the amount he is looking for from sales this summer.
The dilemma for the record German champions is massive. Bild state Bayern’s ‘negotiating position has deteriorated’ because the entire continent now knows that they have to sell stars.
Man Utd moved in with an initial offer of £29.5m (35 million euros – 30 million initial fee and 5 million in add-ons) for De Ligt.
