Manchester United are seeing plenty of links to new midfielders with Nottingham Forest star Danilo the latest to be offered to the Red Devils.
According to HITC, Danilo has been offered to Manchester United, possibly by intermediaries, as a significant move could be on the cards for the Brazilian. The Red Devils are in the market for a combative midfielder and might consider the 23-year-old Nottingham Forest star, as his price could play a significant role.
Danilo offered to Manchester United?
Manchester United continued their search for a new midfielder, suddenly having plenty of options to consider in this market. As many reports emerged in the aftermath of their talks for Manuel Ugarte stalling, as most options have been offering rather than concrete targets.
Some of the names have been linked before, but the Red Devils are unlikely to consider the array of options they have at the moment. Youssouf Fofana remains an option despite reports suggesting Manchester United are not chasing him, while Atalanta star Ederson has also been considered.
Meanwhile, the report discusses 23-year-old Brazilian midfielder Danilo and his offer to Manchester United. The Nottingham Forest man could be seen as a player with decent Premier League experience and a fit for his style of play.
However, this offering could be more from the intermediaries than anything, as Danilo’s right itch for a move to a bigger side that challenges different things. Any move will depend on Nottingham’s asking price, considering they have paid a hefty chunk 18 months ago to sign him from Palmeiras.
Manchester United’s midfield situation
Joao Gomes is also a target, and he has similarities to Danilo. Overall, Erik ten Hag seems to be targeting a player with combative capabilities, not particularly a defensive midfielder. The Dutch manager’s current midfield options do not cut it for a team keen on challenging for the title or even the top four.
As things stand, only Kobiee Mainoo is a sure starter for Manchester United. They are also eager to offload Casemiro, although the lack of clear-cut interest in the Brazilian has increased the feeling he might stay put. This means the Red Devils may have to find a rather cheaper option to bring another player into the mix.
