Erik ten Hag is close to reuniting with Mathhijs de Ligt at Man Utd if the latest reports in the media are anything to go by.
As per today’s edition of The Daily Record, the headline states ‘Ten Hag closes in on a reunion’.
United have already seen a bid rejected by Bayern for the Dutch international, who is valued at around £42.9m.
The Bavarians are now close to landing German international Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen but the move will only be finalized once De Ligt is sold.
As per today’s version of Bild, all of Europe knows that Bayern Munich must now ‘sell’ in the summer transfer window and they may even offload not one but two center backs.
The renowned German news source state that the Bundesliga giants had initially planned the sale of De Ligt for £42.9m (50 million euros) to Man Utd or any other club.
Now, sporting director, Max Eberl, will have to ‘deviate’ from the £42.9m price to finally get the deal over the line.
FA Cup winners, Man Utd, will collide against Premier League champions, Man City, in the Community Shield contest on Saturday and Ten Hag will be without his marquee center back signing, Leny Yoro.
With the French youngster out for at least a couple of months, the Dutch manager would hope to finalize the signing of Matthijs de Ligt for Man Utd as soon as possible.
