Manchester United are holding talks internally about the idea of signing Dutch forward, Donyell Malen, during the January window.
24-year-old Malen is currently playing his football in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and has scored five goals this season.
The former PSV forward is well known in England, with both Tottenham and Arsenal having kept tabs on him in recent times.
However, United feel there might be a chance for them to land Malen now and according to reports, are considering a loan to buy deal.

According to Football Transfers, United are keen on Malen and are having discussions at board level about doing a deal for the striker.
New part-owners INEOS are hoping to fund a few new signings this month, although loan deals are preferred due to FFP restrictions.
It’s claimed that the United board are having ‘intense’ discussions over signing the Dutchman and that United will consider approaching Dortmund over a deal.
Dortmund, of course, would be reluctant to let Malen leave.
However, their desire to sign Jadon Sancho from United might come into this, with the Red Devils potentially looking to strike up a good relationship and land Malen as a sweetener.
Not the answer
Like a lot of Manchester United signings in recent times, it’s hard to make the case for Donyell Malen being the man to solve it all.
His goals record over in Germany has hardly blew the world away since he signed. Indeed, he’s not even hit double figures in either of the last two seasons.
Sure, Malen could come in and do a decent job for United right now. He is another option, and with Sancho leaving and Anthony Martial on his way as well, it does give Erik ten Hag more options. He also has pace to burn, with Mario Gotze praised him as ‘extremely fast’ previously.
A loan might be sensible, so United can take a look. After all, this is a player who Arsenal deemed to be worth just £500,000 when they sold him way back in 2017.
